This is Hellenes Abroad.
Greek Channel is Australia’s dedicated Greek media platform, created to connect the Greek community in Australia with Greece and the wider diaspora.
With three professional studios located in Sydney, we produce and broadcast live shows, interviews, news, cultural programs, music, and entertainment. Our mission is to highlight Greek language, culture, and stories, while also giving a voice to businesses, professionals, organisations, and individuals who want to reach a broader audience.
Music, Language & Culture for Greek Children Worldwide (Ages 4–12)
Under the umbrella of Hellenes Abroad, we are expanding our educational and cultural initiatives beyond sports and into music and singing, creating a new program called Greek Star Junior.
Greek Star Junior is a non-competitive, educational music pathway designed for young children aged 4 to 12, with the goal of connecting them to the Greek language, Greek music, and Greek identity in a natural, joyful, and meaningful way.
This is not about creating stars.
It is about creating roots.
Why Greek Star Junior?
Many Greek children growing up abroad:
- Understand Greek but don’t feel confident speaking it
- Sing English songs but rarely sing in Greek
- Feel disconnected from Greek culture as they grow older
Greek Star Junior uses singing as a bridge:
- To strengthen Greek language skills
- To build confidence and expression
- To bring families, parents, grandparents, and children closer together
- To reconnect young generations with Greek culture in a modern way

In 2026, Hellenes Abroad aims to establish a play-based football academy for boys and girls aged 3 to 5 years old.
This is not a competitive academy.
It is not about performance or results.
It is about play, joy, movement, and identity.
A Play-First Philosophy
At this early age, football is used as a tool for play, not training.
Sessions are designed to be:
- fun and energetic
- inclusive for boys and girls
- focused on movement, teamwork, and imagination
Each session runs for 50 minutes and includes:
- free play with the ball
- simple football activities
- short, friendly matches

Προς Γονείς και Παππούδες της Ομογένειας
Τα παιδιά που μεγαλώνουν εκτός Ελλάδας δεν χάνουν την ελληνικότητά τους από επιλογή.
Τη χάνουν όταν η Ελλάδα παύει να είναι μέρος της καθημερινότητάς τους.
Η ελληνική ταυτότητα δεν μεταδίδεται με υποχρέωση ή πίεση.
Μεταδίδεται με παρουσία, συνέπεια και αγάπη.
Το Hellenes Abroad απευθύνεται σε γονείς και παππούδες με απλές, πρακτικές συμβουλές που βασίζονται στην εμπειρία της ομογένειας σε όλο τον κόσμο.
Προς τους Γονείς
Μιλήστε στα παιδιά ελληνικά όσο μπορείτε και όπως μπορείτε.
Δεν έχει σημασία αν τα ελληνικά σας δεν είναι τέλεια ή αν αναμειγνύονται με τη γλώσσα της χώρας που ζείτε. Σημασία έχει τα παιδιά να ακούνε τη γλώσσα καθημερινά και να τη συνδέουν με το σπίτι και την οικογένεια.
Κάντε τα ελληνικά μέρος της χαράς και όχι της υποχρέωσης.
Τα παιδιά μαθαίνουν και θυμούνται καλύτερα όταν η γλώσσα συνδέεται με τραγούδι, παιχνίδι, γέλιο και κοινές στιγμές. Όταν η ελληνική γλώσσα παρουσιάζεται ως πίεση, απομακρύνει. Όταν παρουσιάζεται ως χαρά, μένει.
Εντάξτε την Ελλάδα στη ρουτίνα της οικογένειας.
Λίγα λεπτά κάθε μέρα έχουν μεγαλύτερη αξία από μεγάλες προσπάθειες που γίνονται σπάνια. Μια φράση στο τραπέζι, ένα ελληνικό τραγούδι, μια απλή καθημερινή λέξη αρκούν για να διατηρηθεί η επαφή.
Μην παρουσιάζετε την Ελλάδα μόνο ως παρελθόν.
Για τα παιδιά, η Ελλάδα πρέπει να φαίνεται ζωντανή και παρούσα. Μιλήστε για τη σύγχρονη Ελλάδα, για ανθρώπους, μουσική, ιδέες και ζωή σήμερα, όχι μόνο για το «τότε».
Προς τους Παππούδες και τις Γιαγιάδες
Ο ρόλος σας είναι καθοριστικός.
Είστε ο ζωντανός σύνδεσμος των παιδιών με τις ρίζες τους. Η φωνή σας, οι ιστορίες σας και η γλώσσα σας αφήνουν αποτύπωμα που διαρκεί περισσότερο από κάθε μάθημα.
Μιλήστε στα παιδιά ελληνικά χωρίς να απαιτείτε απάντηση στα ελληνικά.
Ακόμα κι αν τα παιδιά απαντούν σε άλλη γλώσσα, η κατανόηση και η μνήμη χτίζονται μέσα από την ακρόαση.
Αποφύγετε τη διόρθωση και δώστε έμφαση στην ενθάρρυνση.
Κάθε προσπάθεια των παιδιών να χρησιμοποιήσουν ελληνικές λέξεις αξίζει αναγνώριση. Η αποδοχή και η ζεστασιά δημιουργούν αυτοπεποίθηση.
Μοιραστείτε ιστορίες, τραγούδια και εμπειρίες ζωής.
Τα παιδιά δεν θυμούνται κανόνες. Θυμούνται εικόνες, φωνές και συναισθήματα. Εκεί χτίζεται η ταυτότητα.
Κοινό Μήνυμα προς Όλη την Οικογένεια
Η Ελλάδα δεν διατηρείται μέσα από μία πράξη, αλλά μέσα από τη συνέχεια.
Μέσα από μικρές, επαναλαμβανόμενες στιγμές στο σπίτι, στην κοινότητα και στην οικογένεια.
Όταν τα παιδιά ακούν ελληνικά, τραγουδούν ελληνικά και νιώθουν περήφανα για την καταγωγή τους, η ελληνικότητα δεν χάνεται, ακόμα κι αν ζουν μακριά από την Ελλάδα.
Αποστολή του Hellenes Abroad είναι να στηρίζει τις οικογένειες της ομογένειας, ώστε η ελληνική γλώσσα, ο πολιτισμός και η ταυτότητα να παραμένουν ζωντανά από γενιά σε γενιά.
